South Pole of the Moon seen by AMIE/SMART-1

Images of the South Pole of the Moon taken with the AMIE camera on board SMART-1 between December 2005 and March 2006, at an altitude of 500 km. This mosaic was presented at the 39th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in Texas on 12 March 2008. These new maps are valuable resources for determination of interesting sites for future lunar missions. (ESA/SMART-1/SPACE-X)
